Hollande, Merkel to arrive in Moscow Fri to discuss Ukrainian clash
PARIS, Feb 5 (PRIME) -- French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit Kiev on Thursday and Moscow on Friday to discuss the military conflict in eastern Ukraine, Hollande told reporters at a news conference.
"We will propose new solutions to the conflict based on the territorial integrity of Ukraine. We will discuss them with the Ukrainian President today and on Friday in Moscow with the Russian President," Hollande said.
The German government has confirmed Merkel’s plans to pay the visit to Kiev and Moscow.
The truce between pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian military forces was broken in January, and the new outburst of the conflict caused hundreds of victims including civilians. Kiev and the separatists put blame on the restart of violence on each other. Ukraine accused Russia of supporting rebels with arms and regular troops which Moscow denies.
